After living the first years of his life in the United States, Nsikak moved to Nigeria with his family. There he had his childhood upbringing and early education. He attended secondary school at King’s College, Lagos; and, obtained his medical degree at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria. He then relocated back to the United States where he pursued a Masters of Public Health degree at the prestigious Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
Dr. Umoh had his general surgery residency training at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA. He obtained further subspecialty training in the field of Colon and Rectal Surgery at Georgia Colon and Rectal Surgical Clinic in Atlanta, GA.
Dr. Umoh is double-board certified in colorectal surgery and general surgery. He is highly skilled and experienced in the management of all aspects of colon and rectal surgery including benign and malignant diseases of the small bowel, colon, rectum, and anus. In addition, Dr. Umoh also treats some general surgical diseases particularly abdominal hernias and gallbladder disorders.
Dr. Umoh has authored several publications in respectable peer-reviewed journals. He has also presented research findings at both national and international conferences some of which include the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons Meeting and the World Cancer Congress.
When not busy with medical practice, Dr. Umoh enjoys traveling and spending time with his family.
